Light Versus Dark: An Emotional Icelandic Bridal Session
When art is inspired by something deep in our hearts, the result is never anything short of moving. Today's beautiful Icelandic bridal inspiration comes from a personal place for photographer Nguyen Takeba, a tug of war between happiness and hurt and light and dark. The black sand beaches and the ethereal Carol Hannah gown form a gorgeous juxtaposition that portrays these emotions beautifully...
From photographer Nguyen Takeba: "Full disclosure, the inspiration behind this simple Nordic bridal session is quite untraditional.
A few weeks before our trip to Iceland, my husband and I was given some sad news about our plans for starting a family and we both felt awfully vulnerable, as anyone would. I wanted to explore that feeling and translate that into gentle light, soft texture, and sweet, delicate gestures.
This beautiful location of black sand beaches in the North Atlantic Ocean had the most amazing golden light that created an almost other-worldly setting. In combination with Carol Hannah’s gorgeous pale aqua dress, with the softness of the silk tulle veil, this shoot was the perfect juxtaposition of dark beauty and soft transparency."
