Aug 30, 2018 | Weddings

Think big cities don't have the garden wedding look you're looking for? Think again after you've seen this real wedding of Mary & Joseph (that's right!) with their Dallas Garden Wedding with French touches and romantic tones scattered throughout the design and smallest details. Fine Art Curation member Allen Tsai Photography captured this stunning wedding on film and we're enamoured by the love Mary & Joseph so clearly have for one another. Read on for their heartwarming story...

From bride, Mary: "I have a theory that the best type of romance often evolves from a friendship. As friends, Joseph and I shared mutual respect and admiration for another. As a result of our friendship, when we became lovers, we fell for one another with complete vulnerability and pursued one another with the utmost intention. After 8 months of dating, Joseph proposed to me by singing a song that meant so much to us."

"We started the wedding planning process by discussing what marriage means to us and how we would like to convey that to our guests. Joseph and I wanted to not only celebrate the love between the two of us, but the message of LOVE in every sense of the word as well. Because the love between us would not be without the grace of God, we wanted to celebrate God and his sacrificial love for all of us. Joseph and I are two emotionally driven people who hold relationships around us close to our hearts, and it was vital for us that our guests feel our gratitude for their years of love and support. Terms such as “eternal”, “timeless”, and “intimate” guided us through our decision-making process.

One of the best decisions that I made as a bride was picking a wedding planner who shared my vision, Angel Tran with Love and Sparrows. We wanted a timeless romantic venue with lots of natural light. When she showed me Marie Gabrielle, the venue where she got married in 5 years ago, I instantly fell in love with this classic French garden with a modern twist in the middle of downtown Dallas. She also introduced us to Allen Tsai Photography, our wedding photographer. We loved Allen’s light and airy style and all three of us bonded instantly over our love for traveling. At the end of our meeting, we invited Allen to travel with us to Europe for an engagement shoot. Allen is more than a photographer to us. He is our friend and our story teller who worked earnestly to capture every emotion and every detail of our wedding.

In the end, what helped me tremendously as someone who is not detail-oriented was picking vendors based on style and general chemistry. Some of the most memorable moments of our wedding took place on the dance floor, such as when Joseph surprised me by serenading me with the song that he proposed with, “From the Ground Up.” In that moment, we were surrounded by the uplifted phones of our family and friends, swaying to the song in unity, participating in our celebration of love."
