Golden and Gilded - Wedding Ideas

Feb 08, 2019 | Inspiration

Gold and metallic details are always a key timeless detail in fine art style and having a metal color as an undertone is the perfect way to tie a color palette together. Gilded roses? Yes please! Add a beautiful Alexandra Grecco cape and my favorite Bella Belle wedding shoes and you've got yourself a stunning editorial photographed by Mary Claire Photography, full of modern bride ideas...

From Rachael Ellen Events: "For this editorial we were inspired by the concept of antiquity. Classic lines, architectural forms, and florals that look almost as if they have been frozen in time. For the bride, we styled her in a gorgeous Alexandra Grecco slip dress with a regal, flowing cape. The movement of the light materiel paired with the long lines gives the look a statuesque feel. Paired with glowy bridal makeup and classic feminine Bella Belle booties, the look was modern yet antiquated. The groom wore a classic tux to classically ground the look."

"For the florals we used shades of classic white paired with soft ivy and golden blooms. We wanted the organic forms to blend into what looks like bronze cast blooms to continue on the mix of romantic antiquity. Soft silk chiffon ribbon finished the floral look and was paired perfectly with her sheer cape.

The paper goods were designed with a romantic, old world feel in mind as well. The soft gold calligraphy script paired with the floral details created a romantic and timeless look perfectly paired with bronze blooms. The cake design was rooted in the minimal design of the dress with attention to the small gold details throughout. Overall it was minimal but held a fine art, old world quality."
