We're so pleased to bring you such a beautiful and organic real wedding today from the camera of the talented Landon Jacob. Weddings from Landon Jacob remind us time and time again that film is so special and we just loving seeing the bride and groom portrayed so beautifully. This intimate and personal wedding of Hana and Alec is perfectly balanced between relaxed and elegantly chic. We're especially loving Hana's J Crew wedding dress paired with those stunning Monique Lhuillier bridesmaids dresses!
From the bride, Hana: "Alec and I migrated south for a quiet getaway weekend at his family lake house. I knew there would be cookouts and afternoon swims, but even after eight years together, I was totally and completely shocked by his proposal! We kept it a secret all weekend, which was such a special little gem, then shared the news on Sunday – Mother’s Day.
Most of the big wedding decisions were made together with a lot of thought. We wanted it to be an intimate, simple, and personal celebration. We wanted everyone to feel welcome and relaxed. It was easy to decide that we wanted to get married outdoors at the same beautiful time of the following year but we struggled to decide where. We grew up in Charlotte but lived together in New York City before moving to Philadelphia. Ultimately we decided to have it in our hometown and, luckily, The Vanlandingham Estate proved to be the perfect spot. The lush grounds spoke to my garden party loving heart and it provided the ability to effortlessly hold the ceremony and reception at the same place. We also loved being able to have our friends from all over the country come together and stay with us through the weekend.
After an initial sweep of inspiration and a fair amount of coordination, the details for everything else seemed to fall into place. It was such a beautiful, cool spring night. Our favorite part of the wedding, by far, was that we were able to enjoy it! We had relaxing days with our bridal party, were so present and connected during our ceremony, had conversations with every friend and family member, sat and enjoyed dinner under the twinkling lights, then sipped champagne, ate chocolate chip cake, and danced. It could not have been more special."
