California Winery Real Wedding

Jun 19, 2018 | Weddings

Californian Winery weddings are my favorite. That light (perfect for film photography!), the backdrops, the wine! Kelly & Nick's wedding at the Sonoma based Annadel Estate Winery is such an elegant affair. The outdoor reception looks incredible festooned with lighting above as guests dined in the evening. Read on to hear how they met at a Mumford & Sons concert...

From Flutter Events Wedding Planner: "From the first moment I chatted with Kelly and heard her and Nick’s love story, I knew this was going to truly be a very special wedding. Kelly and Nick met at Mumford & Sons concert. While Nick was attending the concert with a handful of his friends, Kelly was there with one of her very best friends, her adorable mother. After locking eyes with Nick from across the room, Kelly’s mom encouraged her to say hello...and the rest is history. It was #loveatfirstconcert (the couple’s hashtag for the evening).

Both Kelly and Nick really love to travel, and Italy holds a special place in their hearts. So when they found Annadel Estate Winery in the Sonoma region of California Wine Country, they knew it was the perfect spot for their wedding day. With ruins from the 1800’s and a restored barn on the property surrounded by vineyards, we created an experience that transported guests from California to Italy.

There wasn’t a dry eye around as Kelly and Nick exchanged vows in the ancient ruins. Jessica Lasky Catering created ultimate family-style supper for friends and family to share under a canopy of Italian market lights. One of Kelly’s favorite moments of the evening was the walk from dinner to dancing. While guests enjoyed dinner, the ruins were transformed into a magical walkway of gold lanterns to create an romantic view up a staircase lined with an abundance of candles into the barn for dancing.

In the barn, guests enjoyed a night full of dancing (including many Mumford & Sons tunes, of course) and indulged in a beautiful cake by Jasmine Rae Cakes that was inspired by the brides dress, which was adorned with small, delicate flowers. The evening ended as the couple bid farewells from a classic Packard convertible."

I totally read this as “wintery” at first and thought to myself, “wow, that’s a winter I could get on board with!”

Now i’ve realised my error, I’m still totally on board- gorgeous wedding!
