Barn Real Wedding with Green & White Florals
Today's wedding from photographer Katie Nicolle and stylist Style and Elegance showcases how a classical style tied in with a natural feel can be so timeless. Couple Beth and Jared chose to go with neutrals for their wedding colours and the bouquets overflowing with greenery & white. The result? Simple & timeless.
From bride, Beth: "Since I was a little girl, I always knew I wanted to get married on a summer day, surrounded by trees, open sky and loved ones. After we found the Slit Barn, we fell in love with the historic stone building and the charming property, conveniently backed onto a conversation area bursting with life in the late summer months. With a dream to bring “the ballroom to the barn”, we planned our day and decor elements to create this sense of elegance with a touch of southern charm. To combine my British-Canadian background and my husband’s childhood years in the Southern States, we opted for sweet tea and scones at cocktail hour to bring the theme to life.
I’ll always remember the excitement of getting ready for our first look—the buzz in the room from my bridal party as I slipped into my dress, the butterflies I felt before turning the corner to my husband-to-be, and the once in-a-lifetime moment of seeing his reaction when he finally turned around... Having intimate moments with Jared throughout the day, like this one, was really the highlight of our wedding. The time we took to soak in our first few moments as husband and wife and celebrate our commitment to one another are sweet memories that I’ll store away forever."
Beth & Jared had the most beautiful wedding in Cambridge, Ontario in a Stone Barn that was built in the 1840’s. The outdoor ceremony was filled with lots of emotion as the couple came before God to celebrate their joining of oneness. The property was filled with tall trees, dirt paths, and acres of fields. It was the perfect setting to do all the Bridal Party and Bride & Groom photos. I loved photographing their first look on a hidden path surrounded by a row of trees. It felt so intimate, with only their bridal party sharing in the special moment.
The Bride, Beth, had a special friend prepare “Tea & Scones” following the Ceremony which were absolutely delicious. The scones weren’t just store bought, they were made with love over the course of 12 hours being carefully prepared. It was an honour for me to photograph this beautiful couple, inside & out.
